Camping - Backyard Style

Last night Preston thought it would be fun for the boys to have a camping trip...in the backyard. They set up the tent and had a little fire and sang campfire songs and Ethan even told us some ghost stories. I am loving this weather, it's so nice to finally be able to do all these outdoor things. I didn't last too long, at 1:30 am I got too cold and uncomfortable. Tyler came in about 3:00am and climbed in bed with me and Preston and Ethan followed at about 5:30. So....as you can see it was a great success. No really, it was fun while it lasted and the boys were so excited to get to sleep in sleeping bags. Ethan told me that he had the worlds funnest Dad. I agree.

You would think with how they are bundled up it's 30 degrees out...Nope 70. We're wimps!

The Boys in their sleeping bags (actually those were Lindsey's and mine from back in the 80's)

Deasel couldn't get enough of Ethan's ghost story. He listened to it about 10 times over and over and over again. He was telling every one who would listen that the boy was his friend. HIS FRIEND!

That's so great! I remember a similar turn of events when we camped in our backyard in Rexburg. We all ended up inside eventually.
Ethan's right he does have a pretty fun dad.

Loved the ghost story. Eden loved it too and is now walking around with her fake microphone and telling her version of the baby bat that got burned. I hope she doesn't have nightmares about bats and house fires, kidding. It was so cute to hear Ethan's little voice. Looks like you guys had a fun night.

Dude....those sleeping bags are curing world hunger. Unicef is coming to get them.

How come you inherited the sleeping bags? I kinda feel jipped. The only thing I inherited was a brokedown copy of Bedknobs and Broomsticks....on VHS.

a burned bat? who puts these twisted images into this little boy's head? must have some pretty crazy parents. you know, the kind that would end up in a puddle of ketchup on the kitchen floor. that kind. i love the picture of them bundled up like they're in the north pole, you guys look like you had so much fun! wish we were there to tell our own "ghost story" about a time when a mysterious ghostly being used perfume as bathroom spray. now THAT's scary stuff.
